FDA Cracks Down on CBD Companies Promising Covid-19 Cure
From empty toilet paper shelves to $50 face masks that normally sell for $3, the coronavirus pandemic has brought out the worst in some people. Some are simply misinformed and scared, others are actively trying to profit from the crisis. Among the latter, according to a story on PotNetwork, are some CBD companies claiming that CBD can cure the Covid-19 illness. And the FDA is responding to such claims.

According to the article, the FDA has sent at least five warning letters to companies that are claiming their CBD or hemp products can cure or treat Covid-19. The letters sent address the claim these companies are making, in violation of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetics Act, that their products are drugs.
Some of the companies accused by the FDA of claiming their products will prevent or cure the virus, in contradiction with laws against making such claims, are NeuroXPF, CanaBD, CBD Online Store, Indigo Naturals, and Native Roots Hemp. The companies were given 15 days to reply to the FDA letter with their plans to correct the alleged infractions.
