Unlike Many Legal Cannabis States, Nevada Closes Cannabis Dispensaries
Seemingly every day, new stories are published of states like Pennsylvania, California, Illinois and others declaring medical cannabis dispensaries essential services and making exceptions to existing laws to accommodate MMJ patients, during the Covid-19 crisis. However, according to Fox13 out of Salt Lake City, the governor of Nevada, Steve Sisolak, has ordered marijuana dispensaries to close their store fronts.

Whereas states like Pennsylvania have made emergency exceptions to state cannabis laws to allow for curbside pickup, Nevada will apparently not do so. This means that only delivery will be offered for MMJ patients in Nevada. And it means, as the article states, that many dispensaries will have to close.
Instituting a delivery program on short notice is not feasible for those dispensaries not already offering delivery. Deep Roots Harvest is one such group of dispensaries and says their rural medical marijuana patients will lose access to the medicine they need as a result of the Emergency Declaration from Sisolak.
