Should You Recommend CBD Oil to Your Grandparents?

That depends on your grandparents. If there is a threat of them disowning you and calling you a drug addict, you might want to stay quiet, but if they are genuinely looking to maintain their best quality of life possible, your grandparents might want to give CBD oil a try.
Virtually free of negative side-effects, CBD modulates many processes and substances inside the body by way of the human endocannabinoid system throughout the brain, organs, and muscles.

Just like the electronics running your car and phone, your body constantly monitors everything going on under your skin. Internal temperature, hormones, heartbeat, hunger, and hydration levels must all be continuously adjusted.
This process, known as homeostasis, uses the endocannabinoid system to make changes around the body. The system itself is comprised of cannabinoids and receptors lining virtually every part of the anatomy including the brain, organs, and muscles. You sweat when you get hot and your stomach growls when you are hungry. These balancing reactions are rooted in the endocannabinoid system.
The endocannabinoid system maintains homeostasis in humans for processes including memory, immunity, appetite, energy, and emotional development. CBD acts like a coach or referee for endocannabinoid receptors, ensuring their proper function.
This cannabinoid doesn’t have adverse side effects like a medication that actually binds to receptors would generally have. If your grandparents are prone to anxiety, psychosomatic issues, headaches, or other ailments, they might continue to while using CBD, but it won’t be the cause.
Some users do report many positive side-effects: improved sleep, anxiety, energy, digestion, and focus.

Safe With Medications
CBD can be great for older populations who take medications regularly. Drug side-effects and interactions restrict options for dealing with aches and pains that arise as people age.
Many over-the-counter medications become off-limits for those on various diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol prescriptions. Researchers have discovered an “Entourage Effect” when CBD is taken in conjunction with other medication.
Test subjects actually get the same benefits taking a lower dose of their prescription, which helps cut down on the negative side-effects most drugs DO have. This is great for older folks who tend to take at least a couple of prescriptions.
The fact that CBD isn’t known to have any bad drug interactions means that it’s safe for almost anyone to try not to matter what other remedies they are taking..
Pain and Headaches
In a 2017 study published in the journal Pain, CBD helped control the inflammation associated with pain from osteoarthritis. More than one study has shown that CBD has an inhibiting effect on the inflammatory processes that cause degenerative arthritis in the first place.
Cannabidiol was able to reduce the arthritis signaling proteins that were able to bind to the receptors located in joints. More than one study has shown that it has an inhibiting effect on the inflammatory processes that cause it in the first place.
Brain and Memory Health
For those over 50, the age where the incidence of serious illness significantly increases, any supplement that aids in mental longevity can be quite beneficial. Protecting the brain and memory from age-related disorders is a top priority as populations live longer and longer.
CBD’s neuroprotective properties can help keep the mind sharp and even help with some serious diseases.
In a 2008 study, Parkinson’s psychotic symptoms “showed a significant decrease under CBD treatment. CBD did not worsen the motor function and decreased the total scores of the Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale. No adverse effect was observed during the treatment.”

Depression
While cannabis seems to ease depression in some study subjects, THC-containing oils can complicate it for others. With that said, significant adverse reactions have only been found when using THC-rich oil.
CBD appears to help with depression or have no effect at all. Researchers found that an “antidepressant-like effect induced by cannabidiol is dependent on brain serotonin levels.”
Scientists believe it acts to modulate existing neurotransmitters including the mood-boosting serotonin. The researchers published their results in the U.S. National Library of Medicine’s Current Neurology and Neuroscience Reports in August 2018. Another study recently published found that CBD has a “rapid antidepressant effect” on users.
So with these benefits, CBD is certainly worth your grandparents’ consideration. There is no such thing as a miracle cure but cannabidiol is excitingly effective a treating an unusually wide variety of conditions. Anyone, including your grandparents, looking to maintain the highest quality of life possible is a candidate for trying CBD.

I think CBD is great. For the elderly or pets. My borther bought some CBD for his dog who is 14. The first time he gave it to his dog his dog was able to walk and move so much better. The dog has hip problems and it instantly made the dog better again. This CBD was meant for people but he used it for dogs and it works great. I assume for the elderly it would would the same since it is meant for humans and there really is no difference between pet CBD and CBD for humans
