Mr. T Settles Trademark Infringement Case Against Leafly

Last year, TV and film star, Mr. T filed suit against the cannabis platform, Leafly, claiming they infringed on his persona and likeness by listing the strain Mr. Tusk as “Mrt.” An article on WIPR states that Mr. T had requested an injunction that would force Leafly to remove his name and likeness from their website.

Leafly’s defense was that Mr. T’s name is not trademarked and that he cannot prove any damages as a result of their listing the Mr. Tusk cannabis strain as “Mrt” in the Leafly database. The A-Team and Rocky III star was not seeking monetary damages, but an apparent settlement has been offered in the case, the specifics of which are undisclosed at this time.
