More Legal Troubles for Cura Cannabis…Er…CuraLeaf

The day before a deal through which CuraLeaf, a Massachusetts-based cannabis firm, purchased Cura Cannabis was finalized, an Oregon couple filed a class-action suit against Cura Cannabis. The suit, according to a post on Willamette Week, is related to the news that broke last week of Cura Cannabis being fined $110,000 by the state of Oregon for selling mislabeled vape cartridges.

Cura Cannabis Lawsuit

The lawsuit, filed by Tom and Elena Powers of Portland, demands that any profits Cura made from selling mislabeled Select Elite vape products be relinquished and distributed back to the people who purchased those products. The lawsuit was filed Friday, one day before the sale of Cura Cannabis to Curaleaf was finally completed. The deal had already lost over 50% of its original value, dropping from $1 billion to less than $400 million by the time of closing.
