Illinois Cannabis Shops Running out of Product After Rec Launch
Just a few days after Illinois began allowing recreational marijuana sales, several dispensaries in Chicago and other Illinois areas have sold out of flower and vape products. This, according to a story on Block Club Chicago. Block Club reports that those who have not run out are struggling to keep pace with demand from rec cannabis buyers.

Almost $3.2 million of legal cannabis was sold in Illinois, just in the first day of legalization.
The article quotes a cannabis dispensary employ as saying she expects the coming couple of months to be “rocky” while dispensaries rely on a limited number of cultivators to produce product. Fortunately, medical cannabis patients are able to skip the line to purchase product. This has prompted shops to encourage customers to apply for medical cards, which are now easier to get under new Illinois guidelines.
