How the Coronavirus Affects the Cannabis Industry

As we’ve all heard in the past weeks, the coronavirus, which started in China, is spreading fast and claiming lives as it goes. In fact, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the epidemic a global emergency. And, as outlined in a post on The GrowOp site, the Cannabis industry is not immune from the economic effects the virus will have around the globe.

Caronavirus Affects Cannabis Supply Chain

Like seemingly every other product category, cannabis vape cartridges, lights, and other vital parts and equipment are often produced in China. And, in an effort to stop the spread of the virus, 24 Chinese provinces have mandated the closure of all factories.

While the effects of these closures will not be felt immediately, this is a significant disruption to the supply chain that will impact cannabis companies around the world in the months to come.
