Group Pushes for Adult-Use Cannabis in Missouri
Missourians for a New Approach, a cannabis advocacy group in Missouri, is collecting signatures in an effort to make sure adult-use legalization is on the ballot in Missouri this November. A post on KSDK’s website says that the group is supported by the same backers who helped the cause for medical marijuana in Missouri, back in 2018.

While medical cannabis is legal and getting closer to launching in Missouri, the group collecting signatures is hoping to make adult-use legal as well, with a vote on the November 2020 Missouri ballot. If passed, the new law would allow for Missouri residents 21 or older to purchase, possess, and use marijuana. The proposed legislation also calls for a 15% sales tax on recreational cannabis products and expungement of some weed-related convictions.
