Gov. Cuomo Goes on a Weed Tour
As previously reported, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is a strong supporter of legalizing marijuana. Now, as reported by WGRZ, the governor is reaching out to other states that have gone through the process of cannabis legalization to learn what works and what doesn’t.

Governor Cuomo will be visiting Massachusetts, Illinois, California, and Colorado to talk with the governors and policymakers of those states about their legal cannabis programs. Cuomo is making legalizing marijuana in New York his top priority this legislative session but says he wants to make sure it’s done right. He points out that many states have similar goals, such as social equity and giving an advantage to those affected by the war on drugs, but often those goals have not been met.
The governor will also be working with neighboring cannabis-legal states to construct a framework where the states have similar regulations.
