Data Breach! Cannabis Dispensary Software Leaks Consumer Info
A company that produces software used by cannabis dispensaries across the U.S., THSuite, was discovered to have exposed over 30,000 cannabis users’ personal information. This, according to a story posted on Vice.com. Internet privacy researchers from vnMentor discovered the breach and say the information was exposed on Dec 24, 2019.

While the breach was discovered and reported to THCSuite in December they finally removed the exposed database just last week, according to the article. The THCSuite software is used for state law compliance by cannabis dispensaries throughout the U.S., including Bloom Medicinals (Ohio), Colorado Grow Company, and MediCanna Dispensary (Maryland). vpnMentor warns that all 30,000 cannabis users in the database may have been exposed.
