Chicago O’Hare and Midway Airports Now Provide Weed “Dumping Boxes”
Forgot you had weed on you before leaving for the airport? According to a post in Security Magazine, Chicago’s airports will now help you out by providing cannabis dumping boxes where you can dispose of recreational marijuana before heading through security.

Traveling with cannabis is still illegal in the U.S., so the boxes are being provided to help passengers avoid legal trouble. The boxes will be regularly emptied by Chicago police, who will file a report detailing the items taken from the boxes and then dispose of the marijuana, just as they would when confiscating narcotics.

Chicago isn’t the first to introduce the dumping boxes concept. Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport also provides bins for disposal of weed prior to flying.
