CBD Products Now Regulated in Florida
After being sold for years with no governmental regulation, CBD products, including edibles, dog treats, and others, are now regulated by the state of Florida. According to a report on Florida Headline News, the state’s newly elected Agriculture Commissioner, Nikki Fried’s office took over regulation of CBD products on Jan. 1 of this year.

While the demand for CBD has soared over the past year or so, no Florida officials have had authority to regulate the products, creating a “gray area” for regulation. Now, the Florida Department of Agriculture has regulatory authority, and Fried says that authority will be used to protect consumers.
Inspectors from Fried’s department are now canvasing the state to enforce new rules, including regulations around pesticides, labeling, and product production and sales processes.
