Cannabis Edibles Coming to Hawaii…Maybe…Eventually
The good news is that a bill to legalize marijuana edibles in Hawaii has passed a state Senate committee vote. But, as reported on Hawaii Public Radio’s website, that doesn’t mean edible cannabis products are coming right away. The bill would serve as an amendment to the state’s current medical cannabis law.

Hawaii’s bill allowing cannabis edibles faces stiff opposition from the Honolulu Police Department and Hawaii’s Department of Transportation. And even if the bill passes, it would take months for the state’s Department of Health to create rules and regulations around the manufacture and sale of edible marijuana products.
So, the good news, in the end, is that Hawaiian medical marijuana patients might someday be able to enjoy cannabis edibles. After approval by the first State Senate committee, the bill has been sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee for review and approval.
