Cannabis Consumption Lounges Approved by Berkeley City Council
The City Council in Berkeley, California approved several changes to the city’s cannabis codes last week, including allowing on-site consumption in certain cases. A post on Loud Cloud Health explains that prior to the changes approved by the council, cannabis use in public places was prohibited in Berkeley. The article says there was a “lively debate” at the City Council meeting last week, where the changes were unanimously approved.

In addition to allowing cannabis consumption in weed lounges connected to dispensaries and retail stores, the council also approved seven permits for delivery services to operate in Berkeley. Before lounges can begin operating, they are required to install HVAC systems to ventilate smoke, so there will be no hot-boxing at the lounges.
