Canadian Health Officials Turn to Cannabis Companies for Covid-19 Help
Health Canada sent a letter via email to licensed cannabis industry executives this week to determine if labs that are usually used for cannabinoid testing could possibly be used to test for Covid-19. A post on BNN Bloomberg says that the health officials are looking for any spare lab capacity to deal with the increased volume of test needs due to the virus pandemic.

Health Canada said in their email that they are looking at various industry sectors, including cannabis, all over the country to try to identify additional testing capacity. The letter basically asked for volunteers among Canadian cannabis executives running labs to get in touch if they are able to help.
A spokesperson for Aurora Cannabis Inc., Laura Gallant, said their company is evaluating whether they can be of assistance to Health Canada and help meet the needs of the testing surge.
