April 7 Declared Charlotte Figi Day in Colorado
On April 7 of this year, Charlotte Figi, the child who became the face of CBD efficacy for epilepsy and helped to spark a movement around the acceptance of marijuana as medicine, passed away. As reported by Westword, Charlotte was thirteen and died of what her family suspects were complications from Covid-19. Charlotte was not tested for the virus, so they can’t be sure.

In response to a nationwide outcry for Charlotte to be recognized in some way after her passing, Colorado Governor Jared Polis has responded by issuing an executive order, proclaiming April 7 Charlotte Figi Day in Colorado. The governor’s order reads, in part, “…the great and loving State of Colorado shall honor her life and encompass her journey through our continued dedication to unearthing solutions, discovering community strength, and embodying the love of Charlotte.”
